Aph.Digital (b.Tarail Roshodd, Ohio, U.S.A. 1984) is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in the(e) Inland Empire of California. Leaning unwavering towards Magic Realism his work seeks to encourage discourse around contemporary mysticism, consciousness, race, class, and galactic identity.

Though he has know recollection of a cameras presence as a youth, apparently his mother was a “shooter”! and the proof found decades later was unequivocal… Multiple boxes of photo albums: film negatives, compact discs, and 4 x 6 prints all awaiting curation were discovered. Unknowingly, what he once considered a random interest was actually an inherited photographic legacy.

Through staged self portraiture, abstract, and still life photography he utilizes the practice and the history thereof as a tool to present visuals of alternative selves, worlds, objects and/or environments akin to parallel realities… Overtly soft-focused and heavily processed his images tend to portray surrealistic interpretations of contemporary American life. As a graphic designer he may intermingle original ideas with ancient and/or historical symbols, mathematical equations and /or global “pOp” cultural references to create reimagined often coded minimal pieces.

Aph has spent the last few years creating what he deems “fine audio art”; culminating in a 50 track anthology ( The.Mat·u·ra·tion.of.Aph.Digi ) and a small collection of hand written poems By Robot; hand written by robot. He is currently experimenting with his first visual works and bodies for collection and exhibition.
